FORBES: Christie’s Presents Second Jewellery Talents Of Today Sale

Opening today, Paris auction house Christie's presents an edit of work by contemporary designers, in collaboration with Second Petale gallery, as part of the Joaillerie Paris online auction. The second Jewellery Talents of Today curation features Bare by Dries Criel, Luz Camino, MAD Joaillerie, Marie Mas, Rosior and Walid Akkad, alongside vintage jewels by Jean Fouquet, Suzanne Belperron and Cartier, available to buy until December 14.

According to Mafalda Chenu, jewelry specialist at Christie's Paris, the six jewelry artists were hand-picked for their fresh vision: “Our selection criteria were multiple: unique designs, strong artistic identity, excellence in craftsmanship, timeless and relevance of designs beyond geographical boundaries."

Known for her kinetic jewelry, Marie Cabirou's work challenges traditional notions of jewelry, while remaining supremely wearable. After cutting her teeth alongside Raf Simmons at Maison Christian Dior Couture, Cabirou started her own brand in 2015 and has since grown a following for her patented jewels. She's showing the Imperial Wave earrings, whose diamonds branches are mobile and can be worn pointing up or down.
